HUGE Claim Made About Cavs Star As He Mulls Over Trade Decision

These are the thoughts of former NBA star-turned-pundit Chauncey Billups.

LEBRON JAMES may have shaved off a year of his career with the amount of games he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers

Those are the thoughts of former NBA star-turned-pundit Chauncey Billups.

James has until June 29 to decide whether to stay or opt out of the final year of his contract with the Cavs.

Rumours have been rife over where James could go next with Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers touted as potential destinations for the four-time MVP.

And after Cavs were swept 4-0 in the NBA Finals by Golden State Warriors, many thought that was his last hurrah at the Quicken Loans Arena.

Billups reckons Cavs fans wouldn’t oppose James leaving, but insists the 33-year-old’s career may have been harmed by the sheer number of games he played in.

“Talking to a lot of the fans, it’s almost like ‘LeBron brought us a Championship, he did what he came to do and if he leaves, it’s ok’,” ESPN pundit Billups said.

“It’s a rite of passage almost for LeBron.

“Playing 82 games at the level he did – it took a year off his career.

“I think he’ll put a premium on playing with another stud where he doesn’t have to play so hard every night, because he wants to play for a long time.”

Cavs have eighth pick in tonight’s NBA Draft.
